Hi Everyone,

This may need to be placed under unsupported devices.

I have an ISP locked zyxel router which I cannot get updated firmware for. The firmware is old and unstable.

Is there a way I can put Openwrt on this if I don't have the capability or expertise to use serial UART?

These routers are supposed to access firmware using tr-069 but this router never updated firmware from the ISP in its life when I was using it for fibre. I now have a new router used for fibre and this one I'd like to use as dumb ap.

The current firmware causes driver lock up and crashes very often

doesn't appear to be supported, what exactly would you be flashing it with ?

Not needed , you will never get econet DSL port for internet working with open drivers. Best chance is to set it to passthrough mode (other sites discuss getting to secret menus) and use your own router while this stays as a cable converter and phone socket.

You need ssh access, but you would be best to register to a forum that deals with unlocking zyxel like www.kitz.co.uk there's lots of information over there on how to get the unbranded firmware into most Zyxel and custom firmware using the gpl sources.
