Picture showing UART pins. Don’t connect 3.3V pin.
Hi,
Thanks for the info above.
The router would take the OEM firmware but not OpenWrt? The LEDs look flash like the firmware has taken, the bottom ones are on and which ever port I'm plugged into is flashing. I just can't access it???
Not at home until Wednesday but I'll try with both firmware again. If that doesn't work I'll get it apart and give it a try.
Thanks for the support, much appreciated.

Okay, the 128Mb started to get me thinking, it didn't seem familiar. So I asked my wife to start it up, log in and check it.
This is what I've got...
Do i have the right router? If not i can feel an angry email coming on to the seller...

Memory refers to RAM. RAM is expected to be 256M, so your display is good.
NAND size should refer to storage size. Is there any display showing storage size?
Had a quick look in terminal
Found this....
112Mb isn't quite 128Mb, but maybe there is some space taken up with other data?
NAND size appears to be at 128M as expected. Mountpoint /tmp on my model C is shown as 116.48 MiB. NAND also holds bootloader and kernel, so /tmp being smaller than 128M is perfectly valid.
Best approach to get further along is to obtain boot logs by attaching a FDTI to UART pins.
Did you include Luci in your image? Otherwise you would only be able to connect via ssh.
/tmp resides in RAM.
OK, this maybe the answer as I can ssh into the router
talk about school boy error ![]()
How do you add luci during using the firmware selector, as I thought it was already included?
Many thanks
Mark
Need to click the request build button and DL the image it builds.
if you are planning on setting and forgetting- you can install LuCI via SSH post install and work just fine too ![]()
A big thank you to:-
@vyedmic and @joelinux60 and @frollic and @h0tst4x for their help and support.
After using the request build button
(major embarrassment) I downloaded both the factory and sysupgrade files. Both installed without issue!
Many thanks for the great work!
Just upgraded my Model C from SNAPSHOT to 25.12.0-rc3 using owut.
owut check -v -V 25.12.0-rc3
followed by
owut upgrade -v -V 25.12.0-rc3
Had to do following shell command to get past known error displaying luci status page.
mv /www/luci-static/resources/view/status/include/11_upgrades.js /www/luci-static/resources/view/status/include/11_upgrades.js.bak
Hello,
Just upgraded my router to 25.12.0-rc4 from snapshot and all went OK.
Haven't had much time to configure it yet but from what i could see everything appears to be OK.
I have another one of these router's so I'll have a crack at that one next but there wasn't any issues upgrading.
Thanks for all your good work and support!

Just updated the second router, again, so far all appears OK ![]()
I updated these using the "Flash New Firmware Image" option. In the future would the "Attended Sysupgrade" route be an option, if so I'll give it a try.
Many thanks,
Mark
Yes, it's an option to go for.
