Edimax EW-7476, openwrt, stuck during boot

I have an Edimax EW-7476 which I updated with openwrt. The update went through without any error message.
After reboot neither the 2,5 GHz LED nor the 5 GHz LED came up and the unit was not accessible via ethernet any more. After reading some posts on the openwrt page I opened the case of the unit and soldered pins for the serial port. Serial port then was accessible and produced the following output during boot. No button was pressed.

I have then repeated booting and pressed the WPS button during boot. The boot process is stuck until I press ctrl-C, then the prompt appears.

I would like to transfer the *bin file via serial connection to the device (into /tmp) and try flashing again, however I have no idea how to do this.
My "sender" is a terminal program on a Windows 10 laptop.
I would be very pleased if somebody could give me a hand and guide me into the right direction.
