EdgeRouter X-SFP - v21 upgrade

Hi there. I am confused.

  • First we install something small like v19.07.4 - openwrt-ramips-mt7621-ubnt-erx-initramfs-factory.tar to fit in the kernel partition
  • Then we install the v21 upgrade

Do we have the v19 kernel now?

No, upgrading replaces the kernel. It wouldn't work to use an old kernel with new packages since some of the packages are kernel modules.
