Dummy AP Keeps losing connectivity

I have 2 routers of the same model, Netgear R6220 and I have tried installing both the 21.02.1 version as well as the 19.07.8 version on both the routers, however, I have experienced this issue that my internet keeps getting disconnected randomly and I don't even receive an IP address when this issue occurs whenever I have connected to the Dummy AP Router.

On the main router where I have configured my 192.168.1.0/24 subnet to be the DHCP Server, I keep seeing the following messages in the system.log whenever I experience these issues.

Sat Dec 4 14:53:44 2021 kern.info kernel: [42804.794124] mtk_soc_eth 1e100000.ethernet eth0: port 3 link up

If I reboot my dummy ap, things work for a while and again the issue repeats itself.

Please help me troubleshoot and fix this issue.

Check your cables as a first step

The cable connecting both the routers seem to be fine. 1 Gbps Full Duplex Link up.

Maybe I will try a new patch and test it out for good measure. The port numbering seem to be going in reverse of the labels on the router. It is indeed pointing to Port 3, which is LAN 1 on the router, which is where the cable connecting both the routers are plugged in.

Did you tried setting up static IP?

Yes, the dummy ap behaves the same regardless of whether it has a static IP or if it is setup as DHCP client with DHCP Reservation from the main router!

It appears that it is not the cable. I put in an alternate cable on Port 3. I noticed that the other Port 0 connected to my XBox is also flapping at random intervals on the main router.

Are we now leaning towards an RMA Router / Port / SFP Module?
