DSL on FritzBox 7530

Hi everyone, I just bought a FritzBox 7530 (was available cheaply in my area) and flashed OpenWrt v23.05.2 on it and also have serial access to it (did not actually connect a serial afapter to it, was not needed during the flashing process).

However, I am not able to work out DSL part yet. I also added the required firmware files in the firmware, created a symlink to vdsl.bin etc. But still can't work it out.

One thing about this router is that, it has a LAN port labelled as DSL and a phone port (which is normally used as DSL) labelled FON. I'm not sure if It does support the DSL connection to this FON port. Can someone shed some light on it? Thanks.

You need to use the grey DSL port, FON port- and DECT functionality are not supported by OpenWrt.

That's not an actual LAN port, it just uses the same RJ45 connector. FON is never used for DSL, it is for connecting regular phones (and, as already mentioned, not supported by OpenWrt).

Yeah, there are 4 LAN ports, one of which is dual personality, which can become the WAN port when you don't use DSL.

No FON/DECT on openwrt.
