I have some domains I need to block so that my Firetv do not get OTA updates, But im at a loss how to do this on openwrt, Can anyone please help with giving me advice or pointing me in the right direction please.

The lazy man's approach would be installating luci-app-adblock and adding them to the local blacklist.

Thank you so much, have to say because of the people like you on this forum, I am really enjoying my Journey so far.

there's also the Network -> DHCP and DNS -> Hostnames (tab)

I did look there to be honest, and thought I should ask first, just incase I do something and screw it all up. As a newbie to Openwrt the menus can be very intimidating

Just wanted to say thanks again, that worked perfectly. I will share with you though, that I have had to reset and resetup and install all again. On the 86U it was very easy to limit bandwidth to a single IP, Teenager who needs to be rained in, on the Asus select QoS limit bandwidth down 60 up 10 enter ipaddress, job done.

After many hours searching and trying multiple different QoS etc, it all went to pot.

So as my mentors, do you have any advice that is relevant for 2023, how to do this please.

if he's smart enough, he'll just change IP.

Lets hope he dont think about that, But I have to thank you again for your advice and time.

So you're aware, QoS is reactive, and will let the traffic go over the set limit for 1 sec, or so, before it throttles it.

That I am ok with. Its to long of a story why i need to limit the bandwidth to him, But being able to limit it via the AC86U, improved the internet to the rest of the household and stopped a lot of the rows were having.
