Does openwrt have Beamforming in tplink c6 v3.2

I was having issues with my router someone have help me to fix most of it but i was still wondering if i can get beamforming to work on the tplink router . Tplink c6 v3 seems to support beamforming on stock firmware.

How can I help you to figure it out? I happen to have Archer C6 v3.2 (13 and 136 channels, same SSID) and it works just fine on 200/200 Mbit connection + HW offloading.

Firstly what is the openwrt version u are using
And second of all I get bad download speed even tho the link speed is like 300-450mbps.
Like 40-50mbps but the upload speed seems fine. And how to check if beamforming is actually working on the router?

Latest stable with all updates installed.

The latest update is causing more issues for me the range is even wrose in that. I am not getting it why is the range so much worse than the stock firmware

Which test do I have to perform to reproduce it? I'll try it tomorrow.

Get like 10 meter away from the router and do any speed test. For me i get 40mbps download and 100 mbps upload and that's the thing why the tf i get more upload speed than download speed

OK, I'll make those tomorrow first part of the day. I'm in the city and the router is in my country house. But it worked as expected last time I ran speedtest. Even on the second floor of masonry building.

Very bad habit to duplicate same questions.

See here - in absence of DFS support you have only 80MHz wide 36 and 149 available or 40MHz wide 36 52 149 157 165
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wens/wireless-regdb.git/tree/db.txt#n920
If your AP somehow escapes reg domain yoiu clients will connect 40MHz wide anyway.

Beamforming allows clients to be at a larger distance away by dropping MIMO to 1 and using the multiple RF chains as a phased array to send the single spatial stream focused in a direction. It deliberately is inactive when the client is close because it would reduce speed compared to having full MIMO.

The MT7613 is not a particularly good or well-supported chip.

If I recall correctly, the range of the C6v3 is worse off partially because one of the 2,4 GHz antennas doesn't seem to be working with OpenWrt. That might explain subpar range performance on that band.

However, I am basing this on someone measuring the signal strength with an app directly at the antennas and I did the same with Ubiquiti's wifiman app, with the same result: one antenna didn't have any output. Here is the link to the original post: OpenWrt Firmware for Archer c6 v3.2 - #357 by Magneto

I don't have one device around atm, so can't check if this got fixed in later releases.

Idk to me 2.4 ghz range seems fine to me but the 5ghz range is something to be desired. This is the first time it happened that the stock firmware has better range than openwrt :moyai:

Can you check

iw list | less # in there type /Frequenc

And post 5GHz channel plan?
We could restrict auto channel but restricting to more power channels.

I am using termux kn Android it doesn't seem to load the whole channel plan...
It's kinda messed up but yeah
