Having the same problem with release 20250312-00. Does anyone know a fix?
Thanks!
Just a heads-up for anyone using GCC 15 such as on Fedora 42, you need to use GCC 14 for now or else many packages fail to compile:
dnf install gcc14 gcc14-c++
ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-14 /usr/local/bin/gcc
ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-14 /usr/local/bin/cc
ln -s /usr/bin/cpp-14 /usr/local/bin/cpp
ln -s /usr/bin/g++-14 /usr/local/bin/g++
Hi, I just upgraded to build 20250412 and after installing my usual prerequisites I found that adblock kept bombing out with error. "user.err adblock-4.4.0-r2[10612]: download utility with SSL support not found, please set 'adb_fetchcmd' manually"
so I added adb_fetchcmd 'uclient-fetch' to the adblock config and now it's running normally.
however since fixing adblock and rebooting my router, luci no longer shows the adblock tab. Even if I remove luci-app-adblock and then re-add it again, I get the same story.
any idea what could be causing this?
incidentally, right before rebooting, I was getting this error in the luci adblock tab:
possibly this could be a clue, but I'm stumped as to where to look to fix it.
Reboots show adblock starting normally in the syslog and I get no errors from luci (in fact I get nothing from luci apart from the "user has logged in" message
banIP has the same issue:
user.err banIP-1.5.6-r1[5443]: download utility with SSL support not found, please set 'ban_fetchcmd' manually
Hi @oli, very impressive speeds! Can you please share your latest Wifi settings? I also have the 1900ACS but struggle since with Wifi reliability and speed (currently even disconnecting 5Ghz as I cannot get it reliably to work).

Do you think https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/17179 is a good idea?
I was surprised to see some history suddenly pop up, and I find it to be activated by default to be a bad idea.
My patch is /dev/nulling the exported variable and rebooting (merely /dev/nulling the environment variable after modifying the script and logging out/in does not do the trick).
This could fold into the security hardening settings of Divested…
Yes, of course. Every editor I've worked with has it as default option. It's only volatile Command History after all.
I use it any time I drop into a shell environment, and I use it extensively. I know I am not alone.
There are ways around inhibiting it if you really don't want it available by default including a patch to revert the commit when you build. Not much to be concerned about here.
Logged in here after years of inactivity to the forum, want to say a huge thank you @anon80358587 for still maintaining this! Is there any way to show you appreciation?
my Device is WRt1900ACS v1, it works well with your special Divested-WRT.
I would like to switch off 2.4Ghz and only keep 5Ghz WiFi work alone, If only this changed, the Status->System->Load Averge changed from 0.00 to 1.xx, yes, very higher, I verified only ksoftirqd/1 50% happened.
uci set wireless.radio1.disabled=1 && uci commit wireless && wifi down radio1 >/dev/null 2>&1 && wifi reload >/dev/null 2>&1
That is my command to switch off.
Is this a bug or I have to use other special command ?
i think other people can verify whether it is real. Thanks
I have reinstalled my build directory using Divested-WRT to try the testing 6.12 kernel. Only change in the config file is to select the testing kernel. No patches were included.
It compiled with no errors and I have tested it on the Linksys WRT-32x and WRT-1900ACS. The 32x is only used as guest AP and has light loads.
Dear Tad,
Hello and I hope that you are doing well. I am writing to you with one simple request - if it is doable and not too much work and an imposition. Do you think that it is possible for you to provide / post a 24.10 config file so that those of us who elect to do so will be able to compile DivestedWRT 24.10 .
After all - 24.10 is the latest stable. In any event, thank you very much for all you do to provide this excellent project for us all. I hope that I have not asked for too much.
Peace,
the existing one likely works as long as you check out the correct branch
I'm not interested in explicitely supporting stable branch as it doesn't update quick enough imo.
Hi @anon80358587 your website appears to be down, did I miss something in recent posts? Are you still providing this build?
TIA
in the middle of migrating the server to a faster one, should be up 100% in an hour
yes, last update was on the 3rd I think and next is on the 17th
edit: 40m later it is done: https://divested.dev/pages/blog#2025-08-14-web_server_upgrade
Hi, I’m having some strange issues when upgrading to the latest and the 2nd latest build (those I’ve tried). The build from june is fine… In short; dnscrypt-proxy, router can nslookup, dumb ap can’t, no clients can. I’ve tried to modify dhcp and dnscrypt.toml to get things working without using cryptproxy, but no success. Any ideas are welcome. My thread here; Dnscrypt proxy - clients having trouble accessing internet - #39 by RuralRoots
Anyone knows if the hardware crypto acceleration can still be used?
Check devcrypto
openssl engine -pre DUMP_INFO devcrypto
or afalg
openssl engine -pre DUMP_INFO afalg
depending on how you roll.
Are people using these routers as daily drivers in wireless mode? I have a WRT1900ACv2 and while the wired part works wonders, I noticed some flaws on wireless (I know drivers leave a lot to be desired in OpenWrt). Concrete - I’ve noticed the PHY rate and MCS index / modulation keeps changing when operated on an unused channel in the 5GHz band (so fluctuating SNR should be no reason for this).
TIA
