Not going to happen.
why? and cant i do ktM what tollsno ineed?
If we're talking about D-Link DIR-655 Rev. B1, FCC ID: KA2IR655B1, which is 17 years old by now and almost eligible to vote…
- Ubicom IP7150U SOC ~= ubicom32, 500 MHz, 12 threads
zero support for that in OpenWrt so far, so you'd start with the birds and the bees
the SOC is ancient and exotic, barely any routers use it - 8/64
below stated minimum system requirements for OpenWrt,
while not an outright cause for rejection, it is a disqualification if you want to introduce a new target for that alongside - 2.4 GHz only, 802.11 draft-n
not anything to write home about
If you want OpenWrt support, the development necessary would be all -exclusively- down to you - and given the ancient/ exotic (but indeed quite capable) SOC, you would have to go through mainline (toolchain, kernel) as well (so minimum amount of OpenWrt-specific patches, with a perspective of this becoming zero in due time and not to become a major technical debt for other OpenWrt developers to take on). Combined with the age of this device and the below-spec amounts of flash/ RAM, you'd be in a quite difficult situation to defend the addition of this target/ device, we already are on the cusp of 8 MB flash no longer being workable - and considering that you'd be spending 2-3+ years to get your patches into a state for potential merging, well, do the stochastic analysis of how likely that's going to be.
I don't understand a word you say…
What's "ktM" and "tollsno" supposed to mean?
The (semi-) good news, there are 802.11ac and 802.11ax OpenWrt supported devices on the second hand markets that beat your 17 year old router in all regards, starting around 5-15 bucks.
If you want to try your luck nevertheless, all the best to you - but the job would be yours alone and frankly not a very realistic undertaking. As always, should you or any of your IM force be caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, Jim. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds.
Because you couldn't be arsed to read the thread provided earlier.
