DIR-2660-A1 Stock firmware restore error : sysupgrade -n error "Image metadata not present"

Hello,

Recently installed 21.02.2 release on DIR-2660-A1 but there is some issue. Internet speed is very poor with current build, so switching back to Stock firmware but now it throwing error:-

sysupgrade -n /tmp/DIR-2660_V1.11B04Beta_for_WPA2_20201103.bin
Tue Apr 5 06:54:05 UTC 2022 upgrade: Image metadata not present
Tue Apr 5 06:54:05 UTC 2022 upgrade: Use sysupgrade -F to override this check when downgrading or flashing to vendor firmware
Image check failed.

Any idea how to revert back stock firmware.

Ty

stock as in d-links ?

can't "sysupgrade" to that one.

I'd assume you need to use the recovery UI as described in https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=b5dd746cbb1aaf91f4b68e9f3eda97413550d904

Ok thanks i am checking.

Failing that -

  • Some modern browsers may have problems flashing via the Recovery GUI,
if that occurs consider uploading the firmware through cURL:

    curl -v -i -F "firmware=@file.bin" 192.168.0.1

Technically it's still the recovery UI though, isn't it ?
you just change the deliver method ...

I am able to install stock firmware but now stuck at login page, its not letting login through with blank default password.

Try "Admin"

Yes even that not working, Admin/admin/Password/password.

use your browsers private mode

Its fixed now, I hard reset twice and it work.
