For what it's worth: i'm using a tp-link archer c2600 based on ipq8064. This thing looks good (subjective, i know), has great hardware (qualcomm atheros, my favorite) and supports speeds beyond most users hardware. And the good news is, if you have a bit of luck, you can get it for a real bargain secondhand since lot of consumers are buying mesh network kits these days and because of that are throwing their 2 year old routers online for sale. This thing is good for years to come.
