Hi,
I am using a NanoPi R4S as my main router and a Netgear WAX220 as dumb AP, both running 23.05.2. There is also a GS308T switch with the same openwrt version running in the middle.
at least a couple of times per day, my Macbook and my iPhone tend to drop connection to the network and I am struggling to get to the bottom of this. There is nothing in the logs in regards to any disconnect though, even the devices still claim they are connected to the wifi: when I go to the respective network settings - They still show their DHCP assigned IP address, wifi symbol shows "connected" on both systems, etc.
However, they can't ping any other machine anymore in this state, including the gateway IP. vice versa, I cannot ping both of these devices anymore from other machines in my network. The only thing that gets this fixed is disconnecting both devices from my wifi and reconnect. Immediately everything is back to normal (until the next occurrence).
I have heard of something like this with apple devices, although I couldn't find any information on whether they really drop the wifi connection, or go into this "limbo" state, like in my case. also, I cannot say for sure that only Apple devices are affected. It's just that these two are the ones I use for longer periods of time, so I would notice this issue.
This is only a wifi issue, never happens on wired connection.
