Devices cant get an IP on repeater wifi

Hello Everyone,

So i decided to setup my old DLink D615 T1 running (stock Dlink firmware) as repeater with Archer C20 V4 as my main router thats running OpenWrt 19.07.7. When i connect to the repeater's wifi it cant obtain an IP unless i give a static IP to the device trying to connect. If i disable password for the repeater`s wifi it works just fine it gets an IP and connected with internet working. I cant even access the repeaters admin page with password enabled wifi.

This is my first time setting up a repeater so dont know where i am going wrong here.

Thanks

Do I understand correctly that the repeater Dlink D615 is still running on stock firmware?
D615 (as a client) and other wireless clients can connect to the Archer C20 without issues?

Yes, D615 and other clients can connect to Archer C20.

Then it seems to me that the issue is on the D615. Since it is running stock firmware it is outside of the scope of this forum.
