Device crashing router

Hello,

I have a EV charger that when it tries to authenticate to the WiFi, 2.4ghz, it crashes my OpenWRT router and causes the router to reboot. The only way I could get it to connect was to disable any wireless security. WPA and WPA2 had the same crashing issue.

Anyway, my real question is what can I do next time to try to log or troubleshoot what is happening?

No other devices have caused this issue.

SSH to the device and run logread -f

Leave the session running and perform your troubleshooting.

Thanks. I plan to not mess with it right now because it’s working. This is what I wanted to know for the future.

And SSH in using a wired connection, so that you may have a possibility can see the crash. (If the reason is wifi crash, a wifi SSH session may break immediately)
