[DDNS] Box and router and Lan

Hello everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum. However, I have been using openwrt for over 5 years, it is a solid solution. I really like.

I have some knowledge of IT, but there are concepts for which I would like help in configuring.

For my internet box, which has a dynamic IP, I have a domain name with ovh (ex funky.ovh). Carefree.

My question is about the router which is after the box. It's a Netgear r6220, it's under openwrt. Is it possible and useful to put as the domain name for the router: router.funky.ovh?

And can I do this for all the elements of the lan (printer, etc.)?

Does this seem correct to you?
The idea is to subsequently create a site-to-site VPN (wireguard).

Unless you need to reach those devices from the outside, I see no point in giving them a public domain name. You probably have a local domain already (typically, "lan") that you can use for your private devices.
