Davidc502- wrt1200ac wrt1900acx wrt3200acm wrt32x builds

Yes 5.1 version is not official and also this is custom server version.

Again not official version

Softether version 4.25 rtm version is complete version contains
Softether client and server and bridge

Thanks

Thanks Andy,

I've added Softether vpn 4.25 the repository to my buildroot feed. Will attempt to add this as a module to the next build.

Thanks,

Confirmed, I can't make a new VPN profile. This needs to be reported if it hasn't been already. I'll take a look in a bit to see if it has or not.

This looks like another LuCi base issue.

Thank you Mr. David

Issue created for LuCi Openvpn- unable to create new instances

Here you go...

Can’t add VPN connection

Thank you David. I should have reported it but in the other thread I was told “use the command line”so I suppose I just thought that’s the way things were headed.

I forgot to mention a odd behavior of Softether, which might be relevant to many users. Softether's config files are auto-saved every minute! So nvram cycles will get reduced on devices that only have a few sectors to store dynamic data.
That's only because some server relevant transfer statistics are stored inside the main server config, instead of splitting it to some stat file that should reside on /var. I patched this behavior to only save once a day for my feed's 5.1 version. I also opened a issue on Softethers github repo, but i see no activity there.
You can try port my patch to the 4.25 versions, since its only a few #defines or use my feeds 5.1 bleeding edge version instead.

Hi David,

so I've tried doing a vanilla firmware update and will let you know how it goes once I've monitored it for a while.

to start though, please change the verbage in luci firmware page (/cgi-bin/luci/admin/system/flashops) so it doesn't mislead people.

currently it says "Upload a sysupgrade-compatible image here to replace the running firmware"

this is not what happens, it replaces the alternative (non-running) firmware and boots to that...now I have lost my fallback firmware.

Thanks batkung,

The requested enhancement isn't changed by me, but I do understand what you are asking. Since this change would cross all platforms (not just Linksys), my guess is the request would be denied. Since this message crosses all platforms, there are many that don't have dual firmware, like our hardware does, so changing the message wouldn't make sense to them

Hope that makes sense.

Best Regards,

EDIT* I could probably do it just for these builds, but eh... I'm uninspired about it  cheers

Hi David and all !

i want to install NFS server on my router [WRT1200] in order for the XboxOne's Kodi to display movies in my tv.
i saw this tutorial from openwrt:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/nas/nfs_configuration

but it seems the fist step fails with the response :

" * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package nfs-kernel-server."

do you know if there is a tutorial that suits david's build that is working ? or does someone actually here did it already ?

Did you take a look at the file sharing capability already baked into the build?

In LuCi it should be under "Services"

*EDIT
BTW -- I don't see nfs-kernel-server being an available package anymore. It could be the current Kernel already has support.

Hi all,

I'm having a weird problem with some of the wifi devices connected to my router, particularly if they have ipv6 connections. They lose the ability to resolve web addresses such as my android phone. It doesn't happen on wired connections and if you ping an IP, the packet response is good, both ipv4 and 6 from the same devices. On the surface it appears to be a DNS issue. I'm on a 1900ACS using David's latest build (Lede SNAPSHOT r8018/4.14.68). I've tried earlier builds, I reloaded the config from a month ago. No dice.

The system log is full of stuff like this:

The way I read this there is a DNS issue with a device. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

I don't use IPV6, but the above looks like normal logging. BTW - The igmpproxy can just be uninstalled if you're not using IPTV.

You have also tried older builds, but have the same issue.. What is the DNS server being served to your wifi clients.

Hi David,

I use OpenDNS for my DNS services and the internet service supplier is Spectrum.

Hey shuttleman,

Are they configured to go to OpenDNS directly? OR do they go to the router which then forwards the request to OpenDNS?

Configured to go to the router which then forwards to OpenDNS. Everything worked fine until the past two weeks which is why this is perplexing. Just to be sure, I rolled the config settings back to mid-August. Everything briefly reconnected, then back to the same behavior.

For a test, have the router DHCP configure the clients to got to the OpenDNS servers directly, bypassing the router, and see if you still have the issue.

Hi David !

the file sharing baked into the build is based on samba (correct me if im wrong). ?
i dont see any NFS configuration or section and rather samba file sharing...

tnx

If I add at least one of the OpenDNS ip's to the DHCP forwarding list, the problem goes away. It's definitely a DNS issue and either the dhcp or dnsproxy software is involved.
