I got my EDUP (RT-2960) / simax1800t two weeks ago, and after some excellent help from the forum - Thnx @psherman , it is working excellent as a "Dumb" L2 Vlan enabled AP in my setup.
Now I might looking for a few more of "the same type" :
Simax1800t - $33 on Ali
D-Link Covr AX 1800 - $33/pcs if buying a "used 3-pack" locally.
I have looked at the HW page , and they have almost same specs.
CPU - MediaTek MT7621AT (ramips 7621)
Flash - 128MB NAND
Ram - 256MB
D-Link has 2 Ether ports SIM has 4 , but i'm running them as AP's and just need one.
They seem to have different Radios

My EE friend measured the SIM to use : 260mA@11,9V .. Using a LAB PSU
And he determined that the SIM "in box" mains PSU had an efficiency of 80+%.
He even mentioned "quite impressive" for such a cheap unit.
D-Link COVR
According to the DS - Max 8.8w
If i decide to get more ramips AP's , should i go for the "Ali SIM" or the local D-Link's ?
Wife might like the D-links better, but I might be a bit worried about the coverage of the "built-in" antennas.
