I have a question for you, is it ever expected that the curlftpfs program package will be included again in the newer OpenWRT versions? I checked that it was last found in version 14.07, but the OpenWRT version is so old that I run into problems when updating packages ("wget: not an http or ftp url" error message). If I try to install the curlftpfs program in 14.07 on a newer OpenWRT version, it won't let me install it due to incompatibility issues.
Unfortunately, I work with tools where I can't manage to set up an SFTP program (and manage it with the sshfs program), so I need curlftpfs. I looked at the lftp program, but it does not have a function to attach the FTP access as a folder.
I am currently using OpenWRT 19.07.7, it would be best to use this version to solve the problem.
There will certainly never be any package upgrade for 19.07.x anymore, as that version has been EOL for several years now - and you really should upgrade to 23.05.2+, urgently.
Apart from that, it's impossible to tell, unless someone (you) provides a PR to add support for it as a package, however I don't see any upstream development since 2013, which is always a bad sign for a security sensitive package.
Thank you very much for your answer! Unfortunately, it's not that easy to replace the router's software, since we're talking about 120 devices, all in different places, and I tried the new firmware on one router and found it very slow (D-Link DWR-921), but it doesn't matter from that point of view...
Thanks for the advice, if I understand correctly, "PR" stands for "pull request" and I have to go to the OpenWRT GitHub page with such a request.
