4. Set static IP on your PC: "192.168.1.254", gateway "192.168.1.1"
5. Serve openwrt-mediatek-filogic-cudy_wr3000p-v1-ubootmod-initramfs-recovery.itb
using TFTP server.
6. Connect Router LAN with PC LAN.
7. Cut off the power and re-engage, wait for TFTP recovery to complete.
Yes, I mean this is the third time considering I tried with the wrong image.
Sysupgrade image I download after request build from here has .itb extension, meanwhile you mentioned .bin, so just to verify should it be .bin or .itb is fine as well?
twice, using the same image.
it was just me assuming it'd be using bin extension, disregard.
This should be done in order to activate a failsafe mode? After this second time, when I SSH into it, I see (which wasn't there previously):
OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r34310-8de418547f
-----------------------------------------------------
================= FAILSAFE MODE active ================
special commands:
* firstboot reset settings to factory defaults
* mount_root mount root-partition with config files
after mount_root:
* passwd change root's password
* /etc/config directory with config files
for more help see:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/troubleshooting/
- failsafe_and_factory_reset
- root_password_reset
well, you are in the recovery initramfs, the text is .... logical.
now try the sysupgrade, do those ubi commands 1st.
I guess that's it:
| Hostname | OpenWrt |

Thank you so much frollic, konus and the others! No way I would manage to do this on my own...
I have two more questions.
-
How should I separate ISP's router and Cudy, so they don't have the same 192.168.1.1? I have quite a lot of devices with static IPs connected to ISP's router on 192.168.1.1, so I would rather change Cudy to x.x.0.1, but if I shouldn't do that per this article I guess I will change ISP's IP.

What's the right way to upload firmware from now on? If I saw correctly, snapshop is a nightly build, so I would rather have a stable version for a piece of mind.
I did it before you edited your comment, so I didn't do it. Should I repeat the process again?
you should.
the same way as just now, without the -n switch, or via the webUI.
there's no stable build for your device right now, it was recently added, and didn't make it into 25.12.
unless someone creates a back port request for 25.12, you'll have to wait for the next major release (26.xx ?).
then you're good.
Hence the only solution is the serial port as you mentionned.
No worries, we (mainly konus) figured out how to do it without using serial.
To be honest, I'm not sure does this mean it's safe to change LAN interface to 192.168.2.1? I don't want to go over the same process again, if I somehow lock myself out.
One more thing I would like to ask. I've installed WiFiAnalyzer on my phone to check which 5GHz channel to switch to, as both ISP's router and Cudy are on channel 36. WiFiAnalyzer showing the worst are from 36 to 50, but as soon as I switch to anything above 50 and pick 80MHz, interface gets disabled and 5GHz WiFi signal disappears.
Is there any way to fix this i.e. to have working and no overlapping signals on 5GHz? Does changing country code does anything in this case?
It is.
Worst case you do a proper reset.
Is the combo allowed in your country?
I'm in Europe, so there shouldn't be an issue with this combo, as far as I'm aware. Seems like switching a country code option from "driver default" fixed it, as it works now.
