I just bought CUDY WR3000H, installed openwrt on this and I realized that I do not know how to get “system identifiers” like serial number or sth.
under PCs there is (usually) dmidecode.
Is it possible here?

Does MAC address work?
I don’t understand.
yes
ip l
shows me some mac addresses. But apart from that I have serial number on router’s stick. Can I get this programatically?
Probably, scan for text and BCD versions thereof in system partitions....
are you 100% certain it's stored someplace inside the router ?
No. That’s my question ![]()
typically caldata/art partitions contain data blocks .5/1/2kB apart, like one per wifi with their amplifier calibration data, then others nobody cared. Sometimes they are in ubootenv partition. YMMV. i'd go with globally unique MAC instead, if all else fails you even see that on the network card connected.
this is where I'd look too ...
I have this device. There is a sticker with the serial number on the box. Apparently it is not written on the device itself. Do you want to recover it programmaticaly ?
It seems, that there is no such SN there. Thanks for your help. I will stick to mac address.
