Hello,
I have a Cudy WR3000E.
I installed the Cudy official file image via TFTP.
I cannot install the file from the OpenWRT site.
I get an invalid checksum error in a pink box.
Does anyone know the correct Cudy signed OpenWrt intermediary image for the WR3000E please?
Thanks
Maybe you can create the wiki page for this device and add all necessary infos.
Thanks for your reply Frolic.
There are two options on that Cudy web page.
I got this zip file from their Google Drive.
WR3000E_V1.zip
On the " Download OpenWrt firmware for your device" page I tried the
openwrt-24.10.3-mediatek-filogic-cudy_wr3000e-v1-initramfs-kernel.bin
and
openwrt-24.10.3-mediatek-filogic-cudy_wr3000e-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin files.
Do you happen to know the correct filename of the file to use?
Thanks.
You need the Cudy image from the ZIP, and the sysupgrade.
Yes I am happy to do that once I get it flashed with the official non cudy image.
I only went by the instructions in the commit page.
Get the zip from cudy site, unzip. Go to 192.168.10.1 and flash the image inside Cudy firmware. Reboot.
https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/24.10.3/targets/mediatek/filogic/openwrt-24.10.3-mediatek-filogic-cudy_wr3000e-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
You will now run a custom OpenWrt, browse 192.168.1.1. Flash the official OpenWrt sysupgrade image, and DO NOT keep settings. Reboot and enjoy.
OK so I did flash the file from the Cudy google drive.
None of the two binary files would work both came up as wrong checksum.
Post a screenshot of the error message.
You're still running Cudy stock fw, not the signed Openwrt image DLed from them.
Either they managed the package the wrong file, or there was some other mistake, your router isn't running the file that's supposed to be inside the ZIP.
Some AVs will flag those ZIPs as dangerous, since they sometimes contain the TFTP binary used for recovery.
Thanks Frolic,
I'll go and download the zip again into a brand new folder and do a sha256 check.
These are the hash files from a fresh download.

Do they look right?
Those images come from Cudy, we know nothing about their checksums.
Keep in mind you're supposed to run this image for less than 30 sec, and you don't need to be online to perform the 2nd flash.
Everybody,
Thanks very much.
I downloaded the new file and I got this after it accepted the flash.
I am so grateful to get this far.
So do I need any more flashing to do?
You were told to perform two flashes by @badulesia, nothing has changed.
This appears to be the Cudy intermediate image.
Yes, you still need to flash (sysupgrade) the image from OpenWrt's official site.
The WR3000E was not online and I am using the phone for the internet.
