Cudy TR1200 installation - Device is not supported by image

Hi,

I'm trying to install OpenWRT on a Cudy TR1200, using the instructions given at https://openwrt.org/toh/cudy/tr1200#oem_easy_installation.

I have installed the intermediate image provided by Cudy, but when I now try to upload the OpenWRT image, I get the error message:

Image check failed:

Sat Mar 23 08:22:21 UTC 2024 upgrade: Device cudy,tr1200 not supported by this image Sat Mar 23 08:22:21 UTC 2024 upgrade: Supported devices: cudy,tr1200-v1 R46 Image check failed.

Is there a difference between "cudy,tr1200" and "cudy,tr1200-v1", or is it save to "force" the upgrade?

We simply do not know. Maybe you have a v2? Can be totally different...
What does the label on your device state?

I don't see anything suspicious here.

Hi,
If you want to install a official OpenWrt image, tr1200 and tr1200-v1 are exactly the same.

When I added the support I made a mistake in putting the device name which I fixed in a different commit. I think Cudy forgot to include the fix on the intermediate fw.

I think it might be safe to force that firmware installation. Still you should test if Tftp Recovery works, in case something goes wrong.

I enabled the scary "Force upgrade" checkbox and did the upgrade. It was successful! Thank you, @enmaskarado!
