I recently purchased a Cudy M3000 v2 with the Motorcomm YT8821 chipset.
After the initial setup, I performed some performance tests and noticed that my throughput is capped at around 600–700 Mbps. No matter what I try, I cannot exceed this limit. I have tested this on three different devices equipped with Wi-Fi 6 cards. I have configured a 160 MHz channel width and performed the tests while standing right next to the AP. The clients report a negotiated link speed of 2400 Mbps.
For comparison, on my EAP670, I am achieving about 1.5 Gbps, so I am confident this is not a client-side issue.
Yes, I have already tested that. The AP is connected via the 2.5G port at all times, and the system confirms a full 2.5 Gbps link speed. The issue is strictly related to Wi-Fi performance, as the wired connection easily maxes out my ISP plan. To be absolutely sure, I also tested it on the secondary 1G port (router -> 2,5g AP -> 1g AP - > client), and it consistently hits over 940 Mbps, so the routing performance itself is not the bottleneck.
What are you trying to say? The only difference is that the EAP670 is 4x4 and this is 2x2, but my clients are 2x2 anyway, so it makes no difference—both negotiate a 2401 Mbps link speed. Also, find me a non-enterprise client that will actually utilize 4x4 MIMO. Anything above AX3000 for home users is just pure marketing.
