There isn't much detail about the vulnerability yet
But I reckon openwrt isn't affected by this. Hard to tell until there's more detail.
Netgears own advidory explicitly points to OEM software as a culprit. Probably worth seeking more technical publications as your sources, esp ones able to tell notepad from a printer.
Don't know about XR1000v2 but for XR500 the firmware 2.3.2.134 was released in 2022. (I have one XR500 and have that firmware since 2022.) And now we have a CVE in 2025 about firmware before that? Is this a joke?
Personally I’m on a Netgear Nighthawk X4 D7800,

On mastodon between linuxian, it is precisely asked the question to know if, when you are on OpenWRT can be touched, normally agree that OpenWRT is just a firmware, so it replaces any layer provided by the manufacturer. After does it also affect a hardware vulnerability... That was my question
In any case, thank you very much for your quick feedback
I didn't see that question. Affect what hardware vulnerability?
Are you asking for others on another platform?
Can we see the inquiry?
Maybe. That's what the description at the URL seems to imply.
this is precisely my question, should we worry about a vulnerability other than the proprietary firmware, is OpenWRT affected by a similar problem? Which could be the case if the problem is hardware. After I am not in the field, so I come here to ask if someone can confirm me or not that OpenWRT is not concerned
No it is just to situate the context, here I speak only of OpenWRT (which is of linux it seems to me) investigating with this post
That’s the point, remove the "maybe" from my mind .
