in 5ghz if i set country code as india my wifi does not as wifi does not turn on but if i set it as canada or us or anyother country it works as it show a channel.
uae
it shows the channel
What happens if you use say channel 36 at 40MHz?
I wonder if the auto mode is scanning and trying to start on a DFS channel... if it does that, it needs to listen for a while before it can start.
it does not work i have switched from india to other country and thn it create a wifi channel like but with india there is no wifi, wifi works even wth israel
for 2.4 issue is same.
this is a bug in 24.10 firmware that if you choose 5gh driver default to india your wifi will not start even after 10 min but it is not the case if you choose any other country i have tested with
india
united states
uk
uae
israel
taiwan
china
south africa
world 00
but wifi did noot start only for india as for all countries wifi provide a specific channel like 100 44 36 157 so on but for india it stay on 00 channel and i could not get any wifi. i had to select some other country or world 00 to get wifi back.
also if i set driver default it always stay on 36 channel most of the time which is not the case for other countries
Did you try these:
- reset to defaults and then try enabling the wifi
- Roll back to 23.05 (don’t keep settings) and then try enabling WiFi.
i have switched to default when i upgrade from 24.10 beta from 23.04
btw yes the issue was there with 23.04
but not with 22.03
also i dont change any settings just turn on wifi and change the wifi name and turn on wifi password that is all yes on 23 rd version wifi dont work with india as country so i just set to drivers defaut
but the issue is still present in 24 which is not the case with 22 firmware kindky help me to fix i have 3 devices the issue is same for all 3 devices
i think you will also face same if you have a device flashed with openwrt and switch the country to india.
if you ask me to do it again like reset i cant as right now i only have my lapi and which does not have any rj45 port. This problem is exclusively observed in 5ghz but it's fine in 2.4ghz
Anything characteristic in logs?
You have to unpower device to change DFS region again. Usually it accumulates restrictions until you get 10dbm in ch36 without any way to detect that externally.
No but if i again change to other region it again work i have seen it works on most of the countries if not all except india.
I have done restart after change it to india and even after acold boot 5ghz band does not work. Same for all of my routers.
Which is not the case for india when it is 2.4 ghz
You cannot change between jp/fcc/etsi dfs on the fly, often it persists over powered reboot. Dont change country ever again.
confirm that you
- disable 5ghz radio
- removed power
- set country IN
- set/started up AP.
What model / chipset is this router? Make sure you are always setting both radios to the same country. If they are different it does not work right. A full reboot after changing country is a good idea.
The currently active regulatory limits can be examined in the CLI with iw reg get and iwinfo (interface name) txfreq.
I did this but for 2.4 it worked but for 5ghz it did not work
Yes rimps cpu
Xiaomi mi 4a gigabit 1st gen
2.4 ghz works when i set it to in and 5ghz did not when i set it as IN
