Hi, I need some help converting my GL-BE3600 (Slate 7) and GL-AXT1800 (Slate AX) routers from China to Global firmware. The China version lacks VPN support, which I really need.
I saw this thread which suggests it's possible via SSH commands.
I'm not tech-savvy and unsure how to find the correct SSH commands for my specific models. Can anyone guide me on how to change the region safely?

OpenWrt can be installed on both versions.
You're absolutely right! I must admit I wasn't reading thoroughly enough. After re-checking the thread more carefully, I've found the solution suggested by markusl.
It seems to work, although it isn't a permanent solution as upgrading the firmware without "Keep Settings" will revert the region back to China. I hope this solution won't be patched in future firmware updates.

It cannot be installed on the be3600?
Does not make it supporyed here for oem fw mods.
