Controlling luci outside the house?

Is there a way I can access my openwrt device outside the house and control it via “ luci “ website interface ?

But like it says in the thread, it's not safe.

Better to use ssh and tunnel, it's safer, but still not safe.

The go-to answer would be setting up a road-warrior style VPN on the router - if you really need luci access from the road.

Fwknop or knockd are other options...

It's best not rely on those tools too much.
Unencrypted port knocking traffic can be captured and spoofed.
Even if we encrypt it, the following traffic security depends on respective services and so can be implicated by service-specific vulnerabilities.
Accessing a host that might be behind CGNAT is another problem.
Thus, VPN looks like the best option.
