Can't reach router

I have a TP-Link Archer A7 that I am using as a "dumb access point". I was messing around with vlans (learning) and decided to start fresh with a factory reset.

After resetting I can access the router via 192.168.1.1, but when I change the LAN IP address into my network's subnet 192.168.74.X I can't reach the router via SSH or LUCI. I have tried my original IP 192.168.74.10 and also tried 192.168.74.12 (after another hard reset). I tried SSH via my mac and a debian VM, but failed.

I guessing that somewhere router is being remembered somewhere and I need to clear a cache?

My primary router is an X86 machine running openwrt as a VM in proxmox.

Is the A7 connected to anything else right now? There should be no ethernet connections except one between the A7 lan port and the computer.

After a reset, your router should be at 192.168.1.1 with the DHCP server on the lan.

There is network rollback that you must override using old network config, i think 3 minutes after you click apply.

Sorry, I forgot to address this part... as described above, make sure you can reach the router and that it only has the single network connection.

Then, use the process here to change the IP of the device.

well shoot, it works now. I have no idea what I was doing wrong before, but once again thank you for your help and patience!
