Cant get Intel Wireless AC 9462 working. Lots of errors

Hi guys,

I ma running OpenWRT x86 in a VM ( on an Intel NUC7) and have passed through the Wifi to the VM but I cannot get it to work. I can see in dmesg that it recognises it but it wont start. Just wondering if this is an issue the wifi card being passed through or an issue with the firmware/driver (iwlwifi) and if there is anything I can do to fix it? Thanks

First of all, you are aware that this card isn't suitable for AP mode?

While I have no experience with the 9462, ax200 and ax210 proved to be very sensitive to being 'in the right PCIe slot', bailing out with roughly similar issues - PCIe passthrough might emphasize that even more.

I would suggest to get virtualization out of the way first, at least for testing, just boot OpenWrt natively on the bare iron from a USB stick and see how it behaves there (and if it makes sense to spend any effort on this, given that you won't have AP mode either way).

Thanks I'll give it a try. My plan was to use it as a client so not working as an AP is ok.
