I am using the latest version 24.10.4 on a Trendnet TEW 392GR.
I only see the 2.4G device and no 5G detected at all.
A while ago I had an issue with only the 5G device working and the visible but 2.4G not usable (see my previous post) which I got fixed and so have been using 2.4G only since then, but now I want to use 5G again.
dmesg says that only phy0 is detected.
iw list only shows phy0 with 1 band (the 2.4G which is working fine).
What could I be? How can I investigate further why the 5G, which looks to be a different chipset (Ralink RT3883, Ralink RT3593 from https://openwrt.org/toh/trendnet/tew-692gr), is not even recognised?
iw list only shows phy0 with 1 band for 2.4G. There is no phy1 or anything with 5G frequencies.
dmesg only shows phy0:
[ 29.055304] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00_set_rt: Info - RT chipset 3883, rev 0400 detected [ 29.070981] ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00_set_rf: Info - RF chipset 3853 detected
But there should be another device for 5G (RT3593) which I can’t see detected.
I showed in my previous post of 5 years ago (it is the same device!!!) that I used to have both detected although I have only be using 2.4 band for now.
try downgrading (don't keep settings) to the old release (or one release at a time, until you see it again), check if the radio comes back, it could be a bug.
