Cannot get to WebUI after flashing to 25.12.1

As I stated in another thread I was running 23.05.5-241021 on a Asus TUF AX4200 and I t seemed to be running just fine (just flashed it with this about an hour ago). But I foolishly decided to update to the latest stable release, 25.12.1 and that seemed to go just fine but after flashing I am no longer able to reach the we UI at all. When I go to the IP (which I can ping) in a web browser, it changes the IP URL to IP_ADDR/cgi-bin/luci and the screen just says "Loading view"

I can ssh to the IP and get into the router that way but the web UI seems to be non-functional.

Anyone have any suggestions about how to recover from this?

Since you can get in via ssh, let's start by reviewing the configs:

Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button (red circle; this works best in the 'Markdown' composer view in the blue oval):

Remember to redact passwords, VPN keys, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:

Now I did notice in the /etc/config/uhttp file there was a line that said:

list lua_prefix '/cgi-bin/luci=/usr/lib/lua/luci/sgi/uhttpd.lua'

That /usr/lib/lua path doesn't exist on the filesystem in this router with 25.12.1 installed. I did try commenting out that line and rebooting the device but that made no difference in the behavior.

That's odd. It does on mine.

Maybe try reflashing?

OK, but if I cannot get to the web UI how do I reflash?

Download the standard/default image from the firmware selector. Use scp to copy the file to your router (into /tmp/).

Then run the sysupgrade command:

sysupgrade /tmp/<filename>

Thanks for the hint about the sysupgrade command.

I have dropped back to a 23.05.5 bin file downloaded from the openwrt site and the web UI for that works. If I then upgrade to 24.10.6 or again to 25.12.0 or 25.12.1 the web UI again does not work again.

And BTW that path /usr/lib/lua does not exist on any of these images.
