too much power consumption for this.
Using esx/proxmox/qemu to host openwrt vm is a better choice.

Power consumption is not the main limitation for the time being. The main goal is to make the server with openwrt running
The server is a special test server, which can install the system any number of times
That would be like any other VM install then.
If you wanted to run OpenWrt as it usually is a single instance on the bare metal, lack of a RAID driver would make the front drives unusable. The internal boot drive is all that's really needed to run OpenWrt though.
