Can not control LAN/WAN leds with ath79 branch

With 19.07 ar71xx branches, LAN/WAN LEDs can be turned off, now with ath79 branches (rc1, rc2, snapshot, master snapshot), no more handle to turn off these LEDs

/sys/class/leds

is NOT populated with LANs and WAN virtual links while ar71xx branches do.
This happens with WDR4900V2, TL-archer C7V2.

Any suggestions to turn these blinking LEDs off?

This extensions to the drivers isn't ported to the device tree based target and I think no one will make the needed effort to port this to ath79 in the near future.

The simplest solution is a black insulating tape.
