What did I miss?

App versions:
aria2 - 1.36.0-2
luci-app-aria2 - git-21.321.27401-9dda104
webui-aria2 - 2018-12-09-fb9d758d-1

Figured out.
If you use "Redirect to HTTPS" option for uHTTPd, you must enable "RPC secure" for Aria2 and generate a certificate and a private key. I generated them from uhttpd.crt/uhttpd.key:

# openssl x509 -inform der -in uhttpd.crt -out aria2.pem
# openssl ec -in uhttpd.key -text > aria2.key
# chown aria2 /etc/aria2.*
