Bullet M2 flashing / replacement

Hi all,

I've ~10 bullet m2hp in production, but i need to deploy some more and have some spare.
Questions:

• Is it possible to flash recent bullet with Lede 17.01?

• Do I still need to downgrade to AirOS 5.5.10? (and is it even possible)

• Can anybody recommend an equivalent hardware? (I saw Mikrotik groove but it's not supported )

I've checked the flash size for this hardware and there doesn't seem to be any reason why 17.01 would not work, considering older software worked with this hardware.

The problem seems to be whether the uboot partition configuration matches the one set in the settings of the image you are flashing with. I would think that this has been updated since 2015, but it's hard to be sure.

This may be a stupid question, but is it really necesary to have hardware in this format? Cannot you attach a plastic box to the antena pole and use a bigger router?

You need to use airOS v6.1.7 as in https://github.com/true-systems/ubnt-bullet-m2hp-openwrt-flashing#usage
