Builds for Linksys WHW03 V2 + V1

Hello, @flipy thanks for the build! I'm going to get my hands on the device(s) soon, what would be the best way to install openwrt on it? does it have two partitions like the WRT series? does advanced-reboot work? can I seamlessly switch partitions by following on/off procedures like the WRT series?

It does have two partitions and you can switch between them with the usual 3 reboots or by writing to NVRAM.
Unaware of what advanced-reboot is though.

Best way for both versions is to flash from stock, and my advise is to always keep stock firmware in one of the partitions.

Any chance of official support?

@flipy Thanks for building images and supporting this device. I have WHW03 V2, I have 2 router.
I need your help with figuring out the issue that I am facing with currently, excuse my nubeness in advance.

I have decided to open one router about year ago to gain serial access and I have managed to connect to the router. I was playing around to see how firmware was built(more precisely I was trying to understand how I need install your image).
In boot loader section, I have done something wrong, now my router is giving me this error shown in the attached log file. Log file
If you can Identify the problem and help me out with sorting it out, I will be very grateful.

@flipy I just flashed a node and I'm having trouble accessing luci. I've set my ip to static 192.168.1.2 and I'm not getting anything. I'm disassembling it now for serial access. Any tips?

Here's the boot log:

I have a v2 device, and after installing the 0.0.6 v2 firmware, I too get a solid blue light, and the device is inaccessible. After 3 power cycles, I'm able to get back to the Linksys OEM firmware.

@flipy , I've seen that you have commits in your repository in October, and your latest release is from August. Do you have a newer release?

Could you resend the log file again?

Looks like it is not loading the partition on the NAND correctly, and cannot boot successfully.
It is not the first time someone has reported a similar situation.
Could you share your device hw version?
I'm afraid there is a difference with the versions I have and I'll need to create a new device model.

I do try to update from the official 21.02 branch from time to time, but latest release should work.
It might be related to @Nico1320 problem, can you provide a boot log?

Thanks for looking into this. Here is the link Log File

It's WHW03v2, I've tried to boot initramfs to no avail.

Hi!
If the kernel still crashes loading from initram will not help.
If you have access to a shell on the Linksys firmware, by using the support password, you could get the device tree and I'd be able to work a identify the difference and build an image.

Unfortunately I returned the device already.

I have access to shell, but how do I exactly dump everything? I know dts-related files are in /proc/device-tree

got it! I used tftp and tar https://ufile.io/zc6q73b8

@flipy I compiled and compared the device tree that @jms19 provided and it's basically the same as mine

Is there any guide I can check on how to convert the @flipy files to a .img that I can load using the /fwupdate.html URL from the Velop factory firmware? Or how to use the .bin files? Apologies for the newbie questions in advance. I have the Velop V1 WHW03 but do not have the background on how to use the builds.

You should flash *factory.bin for your hardware version. in your case; https://github.com/flipy/openwrt/releases/download/whw03-0.0.7/openwrt-ipq40xx-generic-linksys_whw03-squashfs-factory.bin

I tried using the .bin file but get the error

Blockquote "result": "ErrorUnauthorized"

I am using the /fwupdate.html web based link available from the factory firmware. Is there a different method that allow the .bin file upload to the equipment?
