Building OpenWRT for Ubiquiti Bullet M5

Hi, everyone,

The device in question was supported up to 22.03.5 and had a couple of bugs (mainly the Ethernet port never turns on). The fix for the M2 device was implemented in 22.03.7/23.05.3, but they stopped building images for the XM version (mine). Is it possible to build the image manually (using make=TARGET or something similar)? I've built images for OpenWRT derivatives in the past, so I'm not entirely new to the process. But, I would like to know if it can be done and if there are any special steps that I would need.

Thank you and have a great weekend.
Patrick.

Use the TOH.

I did. I flashed it with 22.03.5 and now I have no Ethernet light (granted, I haven't tried pinging the Bullet). For the M2 (XW), they released a fix in 22.03.7 and 23.05.3. But, they didn't build an image for the XM versions. That's why I'm asking if it's possible to build the image for mine. In theory, it's a matter of adding the target information to the list and maybe whatever hardware information is required.

Have a great weekend.
