Amazing, Wasn't planning on keeping any settings anyways. Not sure how the previous owner had things set up so may as well reconfigure everything that needs to be. Thank you again

Thank you. Btw, how do I disable IPv6 as I am unable to find the options in luci?

EDIT: Never mind, found the solution here and IPv6 is history now.

In DD-WRT, I used to have a /jffs partition and how do I enable it in OpenWRT? I see that there is a /overlay mount and not sure whether it's the same or different.

hnyman,

This question pertains to Wireguard.
I updated from R7800-master-r19797-a7be143646-20220613-2124 to R7800-master-r21650-55d176fd0b-20230101. I saved my settings from the prior version when applying the sysupgrade to the router. When the router came back up I had no wireguard functionality. However, I was able to return to r19797 and get full functionality from wireguard on the router.
Do I have to do anything special to allow wireguard to function when I perform updates?
Regards.

No idea about possibly changed wireguard settings between June to now.
I do not use wireguard actively, so I haven't been following it closely.

Wireguard is now under Luci-proto since sometime ago on master brach.
A configuration update is required to re-enable the protocol.

what does it mean? What we have to do?

@hnyman should update config for master build. Meanwhile 22.03 is the only options i know. Someone could have more knowledge.

Yeah, looks like my current master build only includes the wireguard kmod, but not the the LuCI app/proto. I have not noticed in late November that the dependencies changed :frowning:
I will re-add it the LuCI protocol support.

@MitchMitchell
In the meanwhile, you could lust use opkg to install "luci-proto-wireguard", (which will also pull in the wireguard userspace dependencies "wireguard-tools").

EDIT:
master-r21684-457cc59795-20230106 should again have wireguard

we need all of these;

CONFIG_PACKAGE_luci-app-wireguard=y
CONFIG_PACKAGE_kmod-wireguard=y
CONFIG_PACKAGE_luci-proto-wireguard=y
CONFIG_PACKAGE_wireguard-tools=y

There is no luci-app-wireguard in master any more....
Just the proto

(22.03 still has the separate app package)

The last 3 lines are needed. The first one is now outdate.

EDIT: Seems that @hnyman is quicker than me

did anyone notice perf degradation with recent master?

but with 22.03, we need all of those ?

I'm not sure if luci-proto-wireguard exist on 22.03.
Ad luci-app-wireguard on menuconfig and all dependencies will be create, or made a defconfig with CONFIG_PACKAGE_luci-app-wireguard=y on . config

yep in 22.03 finaly all of those are still there

I'm running @ACwifidude NSS master build for over 30 days on several R7800 routers. Not a single crash or instability.

Ansuel,
Yes I noticed a deep decline in my throughput with r21684. At first I thought it was my link through wireguard to my VPN provider. It seems not to be. I reverted back r19797. Hmmm.

Note that older one is from June with kernel 5.10 and the new one uses 5.15.

Ok. How does the difference in kernel effect the throughput as I am not familiar with the differences.
