Broadcom device support

Has there been any progress regarding open sourcing of broadcom wifi drivers?
So that Broadcom devices like ASUS RR-AC5300 could be supported?

Progress dependent from Broadcom and it's briefly described here:

Please note this from that url:

DD-WRT has a license agreement and NDA in place with Broadcom that allow usage of better, proprietary, closed source wireless drivers (binary blobs) which they are not allowed to redistribute freely.

That site must have slipped my view.
Cheers for the quick reply @peternikolow

That is very sad to hear :frowning:
Hopefully Broadcom will change it's mind about open-sourcing they're drivers.
It wouldn't hurt them, only benefit them.

IMHO hell freezes before that happens.

Haha. Yeah, most likely

Yeah. Everyone likes to cite the Raspberry Pi as Broadcom opening up, but the Raspi is basically Broadcom FOSSwashing to improve their reputation.
