Bridger on mt7621 bridged AP

Hi,

is there any benefit on running bridger with this setup? mt7621 isn't capable of WED, but bridger would track bridged traffic regardless, no? I'm not running fw4, so no firewall offload or anything (/sys/kernel/debug/ppe0/bind being empty with heavy traffic).

Currently have two APs, one connected to the gateway via LAN (lan, phy0, phy1 bridged) and one connected via APuP (lan, phy0, phy1 bridged but lan not connected).

Slightly confused because I thought bridger was only really relevant for WED; then saw this comment (https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/12962#issuecomment-1614796318) that it might have an effect on mt7621.

Please measure throughput first?
7621 is perfectly capable of WED, just that you have to enable it via kmod parameter.

Are you sure? They mention here that it isn't: https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues/868

And? Come up with your own measurements?

...why, for what? You mentioned mt7621 being capable of WED, I don't find much related to that, only mt7622 and mt798x. What do you mean?

WED is wifi part of mediatek offload.
