Bridge DSA vlans to GRE tunnel?

I have established a GRETAP interface, "gre", over a separate SSID between two OpenWRT devices that function as APs (do no routing or firewall), and confirmed that if I create a test interface using the device @gre.2 on both sides and assign a static ip to each device's interface I can ping between the two. The main node has a DSA config where 3 vlans are distributed:

No matter what I try I cannot seem to bridge vlan 1 to the @gre.1 interface to allow communication to the rest of my network.

I've tried a bridge between br-lan.1 and @gre.1.
I've tried adding @gre.1 to my current br-lan bridge and setting vlan 1 to untagged and default.
I've tried adding @gre to my current br-lan bridge and setting vlan 1 to untagged and default.
I've tried specifically binding gre to a manually configured (via ssh vi /etc/config/network) interface of type bridge named trunk, then adding @trunk.1 to a bridge with br-lan.1.

Each time I do not see the packet count on the gre interface increment when pinging from a device hooked to lan1.

Is a bridge between my vlans and the gretap interface possible?
I can provide more details/configs as necessary, any help is appreciated.

Please avoid this type setup.

You want to prefer one single bridge.

In br-lan add gre, and try to tag the vlan to it.

If that does not work can you try setting the direct gre.1 on the interface and check if both endpoints connect?, you want to have this working first before messing with DSA.

I ended up figuring this out. You no longer can use alias interfaces with DSA. I had to add gre4t-gre (layer 2 device) to my br-lan bridge and from there I could tag the VLANs and had a successful connection.
