I recently got my hands on a Wavlink WL-WN586X3.
Per the techdata page (here: https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/wavlink/wavlink_wl-wn586x3), I tried the SSH method but that didn't work as my router is a different version (WN586X3-B vs WN586X3-A in the document).
After which I tried the uboot method. I managed to solder on the UART connectors, but then realized that the router was somehow bricked - only the power light was on; no SYS or WAN or LAN lights.
I could enter the GUI of the router prior to soldering job, so at least it was working earlier.
A fellow forummer has graciously made a patch for the -B version of this router with the different flash chip.
