Bricked FREEZIOV router

I bought 2 routers, maker:bless(zio), model:freezio

I downloaded bin file for that router(23.05.5) and flashed. After flashing, I connected lan cable and it connects only 8 seconds and then disconnect and it loops.

So I gave up and I bring another one. I updated the router and I could select 'use Openwrt mode' so I selected. About 300 seconds later, Openwrt 14.07 appeared and I was happy.

I saved settings and made ready for back up. So I visited again to Openwrt page & downloaded 'system update' firmware. I applied and waited for reboot of router.

After router was rebooted, it showed same situation, 6 seconds connect & 4 seconds disconnect & it loops.

I tried to use putty and tftp to send original firmware to routers but failed.

Please, please help me to unbrick my routers.

Thank you for reading this.

failed how ?

you'll probably need serial to figure this one out ...

Have you tried this:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/troubleshooting/failsafe_and_factory_reset

it says,

PuTTY Fatal Error
Network error: Connection timed out

and for tftp,
I typed tftp -i 192.168.213.1 put ZIO_FREEZIOV10.1d.bin

after press enter, it takes about 15 seconds and
'connect request fail'
appears on cmd

Yes, I have two buttons, one is reset & one is wps. nothing happens

You're supposed to host it, not push it.

Sorry frollic, I'm a seaman and I'm a blind at this sector.

I try to use Openwrt to make it as a radius server because I want to use starlink on vessel. I installed the system and crew should use data with their payment but I cannot control the connected device at all times.

Monthly plan is 1TB and 22 crew should share it but somebody is using more than expected.

So, I'm learning but what is host and what is push?

Currently I'm on the center of the Indian Ocean and I cannot get the signal cable as well.

Thank you for your great help on this.

Read the page linked to ?

you mean the gitub page?

Recently, 2 routers were bricked.

They are ZIO Bless, Freezio router.

I found Usb to rs-485/422 rs-232 converter.
Is it possible to use as CH340G USB to TTL converter?

Some expert told me to use CH430G USB to TTL converter, but I'm in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

I need to fix it...please help me

Probably wrong voltages, you usually need 3.3v.

I bet, USB to serial converters are widely used to connect marine equipment like radars, GPS, wind speed and so on... You just need to find those hidden in the back of your BHG, Raymarine or whatever you've got.

P.S. Don't break more than you already have broken.

Yes, the mentioned converter was found at weather fax image to PC viewer. And I found one more but that was to connect to serial cable, not usb.

Actually I had 5 routers from A deck to E deck. They were for Vsat distribution to each deck. 3 of them are gone to brick and I stopped doing this.

I can format and install windows but linux is a huge mountain to me.

Currently I installed starlink and 5 tp link ax17 router and they're connected via mesh. 22 crews are using the system but I cannot understand why the wifi via starlink stops so many times. Router problem?

Try to concentrate on one task. You wanted to flash you router? So connect to it.

You mean that I can use Usb to rs-485/422 rs-232 converter for debrick my router?

google rs-485 voltage, rs-422 voltage, rs-232 voltage and do the math.

USB TTL usually uses 3.3v.

Theoretically yes, but you should compare voltage specs at least. I have two usb-to-serial converters for something like 15 years. They were good for flashing routers, connecting to industrial controllers, playing with LIRC, connecting to NMEA and similar equipement and many other things.

This is what I mentioned.
I also worried about voltage.

Personally I would take the risk of connecting anything which claims RS232 compatibility and has respective pins to my router.

Now check if USB part is recognized by your laptop what have you. Probably it will require driver installation or maybe not...

I downloaded the driver already. Will try it. Thanks!
