I bought 2 routers, maker:bless(zio), model:freezio
I downloaded bin file for that router(23.05.5) and flashed. After flashing, I connected lan cable and it connects only 8 seconds and then disconnect and it loops.
So I gave up and I bring another one. I updated the router and I could select 'use Openwrt mode' so I selected. About 300 seconds later, Openwrt 14.07 appeared and I was happy.
I saved settings and made ready for back up. So I visited again to Openwrt page & downloaded 'system update' firmware. I applied and waited for reboot of router.
After router was rebooted, it showed same situation, 6 seconds connect & 4 seconds disconnect & it loops.
I tried to use putty and tftp to send original firmware to routers but failed.
Sorry frollic, I'm a seaman and I'm a blind at this sector.
I try to use Openwrt to make it as a radius server because I want to use starlink on vessel. I installed the system and crew should use data with their payment but I cannot control the connected device at all times.
Monthly plan is 1TB and 22 crew should share it but somebody is using more than expected.
So, I'm learning but what is host and what is push?
Currently I'm on the center of the Indian Ocean and I cannot get the signal cable as well.
I bet, USB to serial converters are widely used to connect marine equipment like radars, GPS, wind speed and so on... You just need to find those hidden in the back of your BHG, Raymarine or whatever you've got.
P.S. Don't break more than you already have broken.
Yes, the mentioned converter was found at weather fax image to PC viewer. And I found one more but that was to connect to serial cable, not usb.
Actually I had 5 routers from A deck to E deck. They were for Vsat distribution to each deck. 3 of them are gone to brick and I stopped doing this.
I can format and install windows but linux is a huge mountain to me.
Currently I installed starlink and 5 tp link ax17 router and they're connected via mesh. 22 crews are using the system but I cannot understand why the wifi via starlink stops so many times. Router problem?
Theoretically yes, but you should compare voltage specs at least. I have two usb-to-serial converters for something like 15 years. They were good for flashing routers, connecting to industrial controllers, playing with LIRC, connecting to NMEA and similar equipement and many other things.
