Brcmfmac wpa3 issues

So, I got myself a raspberry pi4 and started playing with it. Along the way, I found out that it can't connect (as a client, using the interal brcmfmac chip) to my wpa3 wifi network.

This is apparently a known / long standing issue and, looking at https://iwd.wiki.kernel.org/offloading, I was hoping that setting brcmfmac.feature_disable=0x82000 in my kernel command line, to disable the driver's supplicant firmware offload, might help. Unfortunately, the option doesn't seem to take effect.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious. On my pi4 device, /sys/module/brcmfmac/parameters only shows some alternative_fw_path, debug and roamoff parameters. My understanding is that the brcmfmac driver is built from the drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/brcm80211/brcmfmac directory extracted from the https://mirror2.openwrt.org/sources/backports-6.1.24.tar.xz archive, and within that directory, common.c should define the module's parameters including feature_disable. I'm quite confused about this, would anyone know why this module parameter is not showing in openwrt ? (I tried with the 22.03 and 23.05 branches, same result).

Besides that module parameter question, would anyone know of a workaround to get wpa3 working on a pi4 device ?
