Bpi-R3 eMMC file system expansion?

I’m using firmware v24.10.4. Despite hours of trying, I’m unable to make more space available.

Has anyone been successful in their attempt to expand the eMMC filesystem to 7.2GB on a Bpi-r3?

You can add another partition using cfdisk etc.

I was able to add a new partition, but the available space list listed in LuCi was unchanged.

Is there no way to expand the rootfs?

It is very complicated, you have to set root space anew for every sysupgrade, while the extra partition 1GB from start will survive sysupgrades.
