I need some help, I installed OpenWrt OS in my Nas as a Secondary Router , can I use it to Block my IoT devices like plug access to the internet? I only want it accessed in Lan but not Wan.
Primary Router IP: 192.168.1.1
OpenWrt IP: 192.168.1.102
Target IoT device
IP: 192.168.1.20
MAC: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6
My Configs:
My setting does not work!!
Firewall - Traffic Rules - Block IoT
I just update some interface:
because you don't have a working upstream port.
lan-lan traffic doesn't pass any firewall.
ok I just update my wan still not work
no idea what "update my wan" means .
is it correct for the interface setting?
you already had a wan port defined, that wasn't the problem.
but if you use wan, as wan, your clients will get cut off from the NAS, because of the wan side firewall.
use the current wan port as uplink for an IoT network, assuming your IoT devices are wired.
I can ping my IoT device in OpenWrt
only device capable of any blocking, would be the primary router.

please don't post screen shots, use the </> button to C&P text.
you'll always be able to ping it, since it's on the same subnet as everything else.
Does that mean I can't use this network connection method if I want to shield the device with OpenWrt?
as you've been told, multiple times, only on primary router, as long as everything is on the same subnet.

I assume some IoT devices are wireless only and your NAS/openwrt has no wireless capabilities.
If so then answering your question:
In short No
Make a guest wifi on your primary router and you can isolated that, you can also add a LAN port to the guest wifi if you have wired IoT devices.
Basically I am telling the same as @frollic

If your primary router is capable enough, you could have it assign your IoT client bogus DNS and GW IPs.
It'd stop the internet access.
Same if you can set an IP directly on the IoT device.
