Block access to a website

Hello

I want to block access to a website.

For this I searched for his IP by doing

ping francetvinfo.fr

(a random site to test) gives me 193.8.206.103

Than I added a firewall rule like this (with LuCi)

config rule
	option name 'offsite'
	option dest 'wan'
	option target 'REJECT'
	option src 'lan'
	list dest_ip '193.8.206.103'

my problem is that 'lan' still has access to the website francetvinfo.fr

what did I miss ?

Thanks in advance

make sure you try your ping from a client, not from the router.

why not block the DNS name instead ?
map them to 0.0.0.0

I was testing from a client, not from the router. I wouldn't even know how to do it from the router, I only use the router graphical interface.

Once understood (not simple) it is very simple with DNS.

Thanks a lot

The link @frollic shared even has an example how to do it with LuCi

I never said the opposite.

it's pinging with the router (with luCi or not) that I don't know how to do
