Best ? Uses for high speed storage on the router

Hi

I was wondering if you have a high speed storage on your router what would be the best use for it...
Would appreciate great ideas and experiences

  • squid proxy....
  • multi-tor and/or VPN
  • combination of the two above ?
  • some form of a cache for a LAN attached storage
    (Not sure how to do this ?)

What else ?

I have a pcengines/apu router and a old ssd wondering if I could put that to use....

I will use it for NAS and "mini cloud" internet disk drive.

Squid and other proxies are useless today because most of traffic is encrypted.
Tor and VPN doesn't need high-speed storage.
