but BPI-R3 have 6ghz support and ax6000 no, is that true?
@anon4457646 Where can I check if it has 6Ghz support or not? I have both of them running now.
A quick check on Wifi settings, both of them are up to 165CH (5825Mhz) only.

The AX6000 is about 2/3rds the price of a BPI-R3. If you are really tight for cash, then yes, but for the extra few dollars, you do get a lot more with the R3. 2GB RAM, m.2 pcie, 2.5gbit, and 8gb emmc (plus nand and nor if you want it).
No, neither of them have 6GHz. But the BPI-R3 can add it with a card. AsiaRF is coming out with m.2 key b+m WiFi 6e card.
@jamestien that is the 2.4 ghz.
so

@VA1DER thanks
also @jamestien can you show as i said
iw phy1 info of the two devices please?

that's strange do you have same country code on the two device? the redmi ax 6000 seems have no rules in reg.db
I use driver default on both device.
The strange thing is, when I connect my iPad Air 2 to Redmi AX6000 (AX) I can only get about 120Mbps, no matter how close it is to AX6000.

we are going off topic here, anyway try to set txpower from 30 dbm to 20 dbm, on redmi. also check on both devices
iw reg get
**Check this in your wifi settings**
Try to set the DTIM interval to 3, always use powers lower than the maximum power, especially if you are always using your Ipad or wireless devices near the router, because a high or very low power makes that the modulation that can be achieved in the wireless link is not the highest, try not to use any DFS channels, these are very problematic, do not use channel widths higher than 80 MHz in the 5GHz band, make sure you have the short preamble box checked and WMM mode, try using WPA2-PSK encryption if you are using a mixed mode with WPA3 or just WPA3.
I wanted to ask in which country you live and how long it took to get the Banana Pi R3, in pictures it looks very good option, it has SFP port, but I live in a country where Movistar is used, I have no experience with these devices and I do not know which module could serve to connect the fiber directly into the Banana Pi R3.
Thank you, I use default when I don't know which is the best option.
I live in Philippines, I opted for FEdex shipping which only took 3 days (exclude local shipping, from seller to FEdex collection center) from China.
I have the same problem transfering image to EMMC. I tried official Openwrt or the one I built myself. Non worked. But no problem with SD card or Nand.
Care to share how to copy SD image to every other storage?
I used 7,8, 5 in this order. But when I reboot it, it just shows "mt7896" and does not go further. Not sure what I missed.
You can try to use "Install bootloader, recover, production to xxx" procedure as show in the picture I posted.
Prepare SD image
#wipe SD card include magic string, change # to actual letter
sudo wipefs -a /dev/sd#
#copy image to SD card.
sudo bpi-copy openwrt-mediatek-filogic-bananapi_bpi-r3-sdcard.img /dev/sd#
- switch to SD and power on, do "install, recovery, production to NAND".
- switch to NAND and power on, do "install, recovery, production to eMMC".
- switch to eMMC and boot normally.
Thanks much!
I did all the steps but did not stop. After switching to eMMC, I continued to do 7, 8, and 5. That's why it failed. everything is good now.
I just placed an order for banana pi r3 with case. Didn’t like their antennas and psu and will need to get them myself.
How long is the original antenna cable (u.fl to ro-sma)?
Device is 15cm from one side to another so would 15cm antenna fit nicely? Or would i better pick 20cm and do some cable management?
Does SQM still not work? BPI-R3 seems like nearly the perfect device. The one thing I haven't been able to confirm is what speed it can sustain with (working) SQM.
the SinoVoip kits come with 8 x 20cm 1.1mm cables
15cm would be a little tight for the opposite side. I don't have any 15cm cables, but you'd have almost nothing to spare and no way to route around some chips.
I am using RG178 cables, 5cm for the antennae on one side, and 20cm for the other. This is letting me keep the cables fairly well clear of the SoC.
EDIT: It just dawned on me that the post I just responded two was three months ago.
